The AI race is being funded by the same three companies — and two of them are also paying customers of the third.
Google and Anthropic have committed a combined $26 billion annualized to SpaceX compute contracts. Google simultaneously holds a 6% equity stake in the same vendor. Anthropic's IPO path suggests revenue will need to scale faster than its infrastructure costs compound.
This is not a technology story. It is a capital concentration story.
What's being repriced is vendor dependency at the infrastructure layer. The leading AI labs are routing compute spend through one entity that also controls satellite infrastructure, data center capacity, and an 80% voting block — a governance structure that many European institutions and pension mandates cannot accommodate.
OpenAI, meanwhile, scored lowest among peers on independent business quality assessment, while its Microsoft partnership has lost its exclusive terms.
The market is pricing AI leadership on narrative momentum. The capital flows suggest concentration risk is building underneath it.
