Microsoft's 20% Slide Exposes a Sharp Hardware-Software AI Divide

The AI trade has been priced as one story: compute scarcity, one winner, one multiple.
That story is splitting into four separate repricings — and the name investors treat as the flagship is being used to fund the other three, not re-rated alongside them.
NVDA — Record earnings, stock still trails the sector ETF by ~73 points.
MU — Sold out through 2027, margins now exceed NVDA's.
SK Hynix — Tapping US capital markets to fund capex, not compute.
AMD — Target raised on CPU strength, not AI alone.
Etched — NVDA's own platform lead now builds a rival chip.
Read together, these suggest compute dominance and memory scarcity were never the same trade — they're being priced separately now, with capital rotating toward the more visible constraint.
The uncomfortable question: is this a temporary funding rotation, or the market quietly deciding where the real AI infrastructure bottleneck actually sits?
